Breakout Boards For Breakout Hoards
To power up the graphics card using the server power supply, we use an item called the breakout board that costs about 15$ which houses connectors for 6 Pin PCIE power connectors. We simply connect these to the 6/8pin port of the graphics card as well as the risers in order to independently power the whole card apart from the motherboard which could cause electrical instability.
